Quality Assurance Inspector

Overview:    The Quality Assurance Inspector will perform receiving and receiving inspections.


Required Skills:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with understanding of cause and effect relationships.
  • Failure analysis and troubleshooting capability.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to QA management, Engineering, and Manufacturing including email and technical report writing.
  • Ability to learn and become familiar with the Kaiser Syteline and Agile Data systems and databases.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint.

Beneficial Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of Basic QC Tools.
  • Strong root cause analysis and investigative skills.
  • 1-3 years of experience performing or supporting (Quality) operations is preferred.
  • Instrument manufacturing, and/ or electronics testing experience is a plus.
  • Experience in optical/mechanical inspection and/or blue print reading.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Receives parts and incoming supplies.
  • Conducts incoming “inspection to prints,” documenting results.
  • Coordinates with Purchasing and Stores to properly route incoming products.
  • Coordinates with Service and Manufacturing to quickly handle returns (RMAs).
  • Provides assistance to shipping personnel as necessary.
  • Minor dimensional analysis (example equipment: calipers, micrometers, 3D scanner).
  • Enter analysis results into central database and classify results.
  • Work closely with the Manufacturing, Quality, and Service staff in team environment to solve supply chain problems.
  • Complete tasks as assigned by Quality Management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to operate a personal computer, telephone and other office equipment.
  • Must perform job duties onsite, except those duties that are customarily or by their nature performed offsite (for example, offsite customer visits).
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where constructive criticism is encouraged.
  • Must be able to work on multiple assignments at once, and complete assignments within deadline and budget (if applicable) with satisfactory quality.
  • Must be able to operate as an effective team member.
  • Must be committed to a high standard of safety, and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all company safety policies.
  • Must be willing and available to work such weekends and holidays as necessary and desirable to meet business needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. AAS/AS preferred.

Organizational Alignment:

  • Reports to the Quality Supervisor.
