Opto-Mechanical Assembler

Job Description:

Opto-Mechanical Assemblers perform procedures related to the trimming, cleaning, alignment and bonding of optical components into their respective hardware. An Assembler will also perform mechanical assembly of parts into their correct configurations. Assembler’s work with compound adhesives, paints, solvents, hand tools, fixtures, and electronic and pneumatic equipment. The assembler may also be expected to occasionally supply similar support labor to areas outside of their department as authorized by their immediate supervisor.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Perform Opto-Mechanical assembly procedures as directed by the area supervisor in order to meet the outlined delivery schedules.
  • Assure that all department material and equipment meet their required specifications such as shelf life, calibration, maintenance and appropriate labeling.
  • Follow department protocol and policy as it relates to the safety of persons and product. This includes departmental organization, housekeeping and safety awareness training.
  • Appropriately communicate information pertinent to work duties to your supervisor and coworkers.
  • Appropriately complete all documentation as called out in company processes or policies.


Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.


Preferred Skills:  

Experience in glass cleaning and handling is preferred.

Experience using calipers, height gauges, theodolites and other measuring devices is helpful.
