Raman Books

Analytical Applications of
Raman Spectroscopy

Michael J. Pelletier edited this work with contributions from world experts in various disciplines covering such topics as catalysts, polymers, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors and biomedical applications.

From the Preface of the book:

This book is an introduction to Raman spectroscopy for scientists and engineers who need to solve chemical measurement problems. It is written at a level that should be useful for engineers and scientists who have little or no expertise in spectroscopy. The goal is to give the reader a general idea of what Raman spectroscopy is and when it may be the best way to make a chemical measurement. Even Raman experts will find topics of interest and utility. Temperature effects, chemometric analyses, and addressing fluorescence interference are just a few aspects addressed which are applicable to state-of-the art research as well as routine analysis.

Chapters 1 and 2 in this book give background on general application of Raman spectroscopy and Raman instrumentation. Chapters 3-10 provide descriptions of numerous applications of Raman spectroscopy organized by field of application, and critically described by world leaders in those fields. Together, the book should give the reader a good start in the identification and development of new Raman applications.

The book is published by Blackwell Science Ltd., Oxford (1999)
