VPH Gratings
Our strong commitment to quality products extends to our desire to help clients meet their unique needs by constructing custom volume phase holographic (VPH™) gratings designed for their specific application. Each set of operating requirements is evaluated and a custom specification generated to which a VPH grating can be produced. Volume phase gratings for spectroscopy, ultrafast laser compressors, and wavelength division multiplexing (Proceedings SPIE, vol. 3779, pp 313-323, 1999) KOSI also offers a special patented VPH grating assembly called the HoloPlex™ incorporating two separate gratings into one package. Each component grating interacts with a different spectral range than the other producing two distinct and spatially separated spectra. This unique arrangement allows collection of broadband spectral data at high resolution by a 2D detector array or physically different detectors. KOSI's current capability allows the production of VPH transmission gratings throughout the visible spectrum into the near infrared or from about 400 to 1600 nanometers. Grating frequencies are available from approximately 300 to 6000 lines per millimeter. Standard glass substrates are made of optical quality BK7 with other materials available. Grating clear apertures range from 3 to 100 millimeters on each side. Specifications will vary with each application's requirement
