Modular Raman Spectrometer

The HoloLab™ 5000R Modular Raman Spectrometer has been designed to meet the performance requirements of the research user. The modular architecture also provides real experimental versatility and stability while providing for future system expansion or upgrade. The spectrometer is based on the award-winning axial transmissive imaging spectrograph design, which features both fast ƒ/1.8 optics and HoloPlex™ transmission grating technology.

The combination of the HoloPlex grating with a multichannel CCD array detector allows for simultaneous full spectral coverage from 100 to 4400 cm–1 with 532-nm excitation without aperture sharing or scanning. This HoloPlex advantage can be directly translated into shorter data acquisition times per sample and higher sample throughput per unit time in comparison to traditional Raman spectrometers. Improved precision and high-quality spectra allow quantitative data analysis.

The modular system is compatible with a number of CCD detector formats and chip types. In order to maximize system flexibility both LN-cooled (user supplied) and TE-cooled CCD formats are supported. This flexibility allows the user to achieve the greatest system performance without compromise for the sake of instrument packaging.

A number of off-the-shelf sampling options are available including a Raman microprobe, a remote filtered probe head and a Class I sampling compartment. The use of fiber-coupled sampling stations leads to an exceptionally stable spectrometer with a compact instrument footprint. In addition to these options, the open architecture of the modular systems allow user-configured sampling accessories and geometrics to be constructed.

    NIR Optimized HoloLab 5000R

Spectrograph Features

  • High ƒ/number for maximum signal collection, matched to fiber optics
  • Excellent imaging performance
  • Interchangeable gratings
  • Small footprint with excellent stray light rejection
  • Options for visible or NIR optimization optics

Near-IR Detector Option

  • Most sensitive NIR CCD available for Raman spectroscopy; TE water assisted cooling (T < -80°C) required to minimize detector noise for all NIR deep-depletion CCDs without the need for LN cooling
  • Optional NIR-optimized CCD detector enables measurement of aromatic CH, NH and some OH stretching vibrations with 785-nm excitation - a region dead to conventional Raman spectrometers
  • Significant improvement in measured signal for NIR BI DD CCD detector when compared to FI designs
